This is a beautiful and flavoursome trio of herbs

All from the mint family, Lamiaceae, which is delicious as a medicine but could also act as a tasty beverage with some soda, rosemary sprig, cucumber, citrus or a natural cordial (and maybe some gin!).

All three herbs in this blend have the overall effect of cooling the system, making it great for calming down a hot temperament or system, like during times of external heat (weather/summer), internal heat (tissue irritation and inflammation), or fever/active infection.

And due to the essential oil content in the herbs, they also carry the capacity to relax tension and cramping, especially in the digestive tract, making it a fantastic formula for IBS type complaints like bloating, nausea, wind and abdominal pain or cramping.

The formula:

  1. Mint (Mentha) - cooling, drying, carrying the actions discussed above. Indicated for fevers to help them break, hot, overstimulated or overexcited tissue or nervous system, hot weather to help cool the body and digestive IBS-type symptoms.

  2. Spearmint (Mentha spicata) - carries much the same indications and actions as mint above, but spearmint has also shown useful hormonal activity against elevated androgens/testosterone in women, normally manifesting as PCOS type symptoms.

  3. Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) - a cooling, relaxing digestive and nervine tonic, great for connecting with joy, and settling an anxious mind, heart and digestion. This is a great remedy for a nervous stomach e.g. IBS symptoms with stress.

Take as a medicine or enjoy as a tasty beverage - the choice is yours!
